The Coca-Cola Company is contributing hundreds of footballs to "Six Villages for 2006" -- the official charity campaign of the 2006 FIFA World Cup -- and inviting journalists in Germany to cover this year's tournament to play a key role in the children's cause.
At the special Coca-Cola booth inside the Berlin Stadium Media Center for the FIFA World Cup, reporters and other media representatives are invited to predict the winning team and score for any of the 64 matches. For each match, The Coca-Cola Company is giving ten footballs to one of the new SOS Children's Villages. Each donation of ten footballs will be made in the name of the media organization of the journalist most-accurately predicting the match outcome.
Following the tournament, the six journalists ranked with the highest cumulative point totals will be provided a trip by Coca-Cola to the new SOS Children's Village in South Africa, host country for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The global "Six Villages for 2006" campaign, which continues through the end of FIFA World Cup, was established to fund construction this year of six new SOS Children's Villages -- in Brazil, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa, Ukraine and Vietnam.
