Coca-Cola is among the 10 recipients of the Natural Health Magazine's first "Green Choice" awards. The Coca-Cola Company was selected because of its leadership and commitment to recycling and impressive light-weighting efforts.
Natural Health Magazine's Green Choice awards identified large, multinational companies with tremendous reach and influence that are implementing substantial, systemic green initiatives and inspiring others to follow suit. Candidates were chosen based on alternative energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, water use, recycling, operational energy footprints, and LEED certifications.
"The finalists are conserving energy, saving water, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, shrinking carbon footprints, and reducing waste at unprecedented levels. They also are contributing to huge gains in alternative energy and encouraging their employees to embrace sustainability," said Mary Bolster, editor in chief, Natural Health Magazine.
The Green Choice Awards are featured in the May 2009 issue of Natural Health Magazine. It has been a leader in the healthy lifestyle category for 35 years, providing lively and inspiring information on health, food, fitness, beauty, travel, style, and green living. |
